IWOK Philosophy in Practice
We have launched this web page office to share our knowledge and experience navigating the Western academic and societal paradigms in a way that is also respectful to our Earth Mother and our future generations.  The following brief descriptions include the services and collaborations that are taking place in our little corner of the world.

Academic and Organization Consultation
Collectively we have years of experience in the health and wellness fields including academic teaching and coursework; scientific research methodology and publication; and both western and traditional wellness practices by and for Indigenous people and communities.  Along with numerous other Native and Indigenous health practitioners and academics from all over the globe, we have worked diligently to negotiate Western constructs of scientific method in promotion of a more authentic and just Indigenous Ways of Knowing philosophical stance in health and wellness practices and in academic discourse.  Contact Dr. Grayshield to schedule talks and workshops on the following topics:

  • Healing Trauma, Including Historical and Intergenerational;
The services that we provide privilege an Indigenous epistemological philosophy and can be accessed through email, phone consultation, or face to face meeting through skype or messenger where appropriate.

Thesis and Dissertation Support
We are excited about your research and writing! The world is becoming a much better place because indigenously minded individuals like you are taking leadership roles, and becoming change agents for increased awareness of our impact as individuals in the world today. Western Ways of Knowing (WWOK) are now beginning to catch up to Indigenous Ways of Knowing (IWOK) because the impact of a purely western society has reeked havoc on our social, political, and environmental structures. We now have ample "scientific" evidence to substantiate what IWOK has known since time immemorial, 1) that nature provides the most effective healing resources; 2) that our thoughts create our reality; 3) that our soul drives our intentions and; 4) that our connection to spirit is ultimate–no matter how we frame it.

We are providing tools and resources that may be important in your search for commentary to support what you hope to accomplish in your research. Schedule a phone call, send us an e-mail, comment on our blog, and please be patient as we continually grow with this initial endeavor.

Fee services for reading and editing research papers can be scheduled through email and phone consultation.
